1. bring about 引起，實現，導致。如：

What brought about his illness? 他的病是怎樣引起的?

2. bring (a)round

(1) 使改變觀點或看法。如：

They tried to bring him round to their views. 他們試圖讓他改變看法同意他們的意見。

(2) 使蘇醒。如：

I am sure our doctors will bring him around in no time. 我相信醫生會很快把他治好。

(3) 順便把某人帶來串門。如：

Why don’t you bring your wife around to see us sometime. 為什么不把你妻子哪天帶來玩玩?

3. bring back

(1) 送還，帶回。如：

Please bring back the book tomorrow. 請明天送還這本書。

He brought me back in his car. 他用汽車把我送回家。

(2) 使想起，使恢復。如：

4. bring down

(1) 擊落或打落(飛機、飛鳥等)。如：

注：有時也表示：使落下。如：

The pilot brought his crippled plane down in a field. 飛行員把失靈的飛機降落在田野里。

(2) 打死或打傷(野獸、動物等)。如：

(3) 使倒下，推翻。如：

The wind brought down a number of trees. 大風吹倒了一些樹。

The scandal may bring down the government. 這一丑聞有可能使政府垮臺。

5. bring forth 產生，引起，結果。如：

Trees bring forth fruit. 樹結果實。

He brought in six new members last month. 他上個月介紹了六位新會員。

(4) 聘請。如：

They’ve brought in experts to advise on the scheme. 他們已聘請專家對這項計劃提出意見。

(5) 逮捕，抓入警察局。如：

Two suspicious characters were brought in. 兩個可疑的人被逮捕。
