1. Learn some useful words and expressions:
have a cold, toothache, dentist, cough, take a rest, fever, flu, headache, at night, coffee, tea, lift
2. Help the students to learn the modals for giving advice:
(1)You should see a dentist.
(2)You shouldn’t drink coffee or tea in the evening.
3. Talk about illnesses.
4. Learn to express sympathy for a patient and give some ad vice to the patients.

T:Boys and girls, noe know something about the 2008 Olympics.I want to ask you some questions. What’s the slo gan of the 2008 Olympic Games?
S1:One World, One Dream.
T:Good! Then what’s a symbol of the Olympic Games?
S2:Olympic rings.
T:What’re the colors of the rings?
S3:They are red, yellow, black, green and blue.
T:Do you like sports?
S4:Yes, very much.
T:What sports do you often do in your free time?
S5:I often play football.
S6:Sometimes I play table tennis with my classmates.
S7:I skate in winter and swim in summer.
T:Why do you like sports?(啟發性地)
S8:Sports can make us strong and healthy.
T:I think so. Wonderful! Doing sports is a good way to keep healthy. Do you agree with me? (臉帶微笑,親切地)

(教師指著圖問What’s wrong with angkang?并板書。讓學生聽1a錄音,回答問題。)

Ss: He has a toothache.
T: Yes, he has a toothache. (作牙痛狀) What should he do?
Ss: He should see a dentist.
T: Yes, he should see a dentist.

Step 3 Consolidation 第三步 鞏固(時間:12分鐘)
1. (聽1a錄音并跟讀,提示學生注意語音語調。)
T: Listen to 1a and repeat. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation. Then answer the questions according to 1a.
(1)Does angkang have a cold?
(2)What’s wron g with angkang?
(3)What should angkang do?
(核對答案。)
2. (兩人一組操練對話。完成1b。)
T: Please practice the dialog in 1b in pairs and then act it out.
3. (通過練習,鞏固并運用新詞及should/should not。)
T: Let’s play a game, O? The game is “who is the best doctor?”
(做“誰是最佳醫生”的游戲,給學生創設一種游戲的情景,以激發學生的學習興趣。)
T: Suppose you are a doctor, and I’m a patient.
(一邊做動作,一邊讓同學看卡片,卡片要把1b、2、3a和4的內容融入其中。)

Step 4 Practice 第四步 練習(時間:15分鐘)

(教師把剛才用的卡片粘貼在小黑板上,增強同學們的記憶,便于開展活動。)
T: Now ask and answer according to these cards. Please use “what’s wrong/the matter with …?” “He has / She has…” “He / She should / shouldn’t …”
T: Now, stop here. Please come to 2 and practice in pairs.

2. (完成3a和3b。)
T: Finish 3a in pairs, then act them ou t.
3. (播放4錄音,完成4。)
T: Then please listen to the conversations in 4 and number the following pictures by yourselves.
Step 5 Project 第五步 綜合探究活動(時間:5分鐘)
1. (完善對話,提高口語表達能力。)
T: Please make a dialog like the example, then ac t it out.
Example:
S1: Ouch! (手摸臉,假裝疼痛的樣子。)
