一、內容及分析
本單元以生活中發生的有趣事情及富有科普意義的不明飛行物UFO作為話題,其語言功能是談論過去發生的事情,學會講故事,進而培養學生熱愛科學、探索科學、熱愛生活的情感。是在學習了一般過去時態和現在進行時態的基礎上,通過講故事的方式,學習過去進行時態,繼續鞏固一般過去時態,學習when、while引導的時間狀語從句,進而加深對一般過去時態和過去進行時態意義的理解和應用。
Section A:活動1a至2c主要通過聽說的方式,描述UFO的發生過程, 在情景中呈現并學習了過去進行時態的意義及其結構,學習了when和while引導的時間狀語從句;顒3a至活動4通過讀寫的方式,通過任務驅動,講述了UFO故事的結尾,然后通過小組交流活動,應用鞏固過去進行時態。
Section B:在Section A的基礎上進一步升華,應用前面學習的知識談論學生身邊常發生的事情,增強語言的真實實用性,教材編排按照先聽說后讀寫循序漸進的方式,便于學生掌握和鞏固。
Self Check目的是檢測重點詞匯、目標語言的應用,是學生單元復習和小結的指南。
教材以循序漸進的方式逐步呈現、操練、鞏固、提高和復習新的語言,通過任務驅動的方式,從生活中來,到生活中去,體現語言的工具性和交際性。聽、說、讀、寫貫穿整個學習過程,讓學生體驗合作交流的學習方式,感受語言學習之樂。
二、學習者特征分析
本單元的主要目標是學習掌握過去進行時態,鞏固應用一般過去時態,學會講故事或描述身邊發生的事情,它是在學生已經學習了現在進行時態和一般過去時態的基礎上繼續學習的。對于八年級的學生,學生已經有了一定的詞匯量,特別是要用好多的動詞,學生有了一定的基礎,這樣便于教學內容的突破;更好的是教材選編了一些富有科普意義的UFO,更能激發學生的好奇心和學習興趣,所以本單元的學習,學生應該能輕松的掌握。

2、過程與方法 本單元通過聽說讀寫各種活動,了解了UFO,學習了UFO的故事發生過程,鞏固掌握一般過去時態和過去進行時態,能夠講述或者復述故事,描述自己身邊發生的事情。
3、情感態度與價值觀:以有趣的UFO,激發學生探索自然,熱愛科學的興趣。以描述身邊發生的有趣事情,激發學生熱愛生活,享受生活,熱愛學習的情趣。
四、重點難點 理解和掌握過去進行時態的意義功能,能區別一般過去時態和過去進行時態意義,熟悉句子結構,能應用運用這兩種時態;掌握when,while的用法和區別及其引導的條件狀語從句。
五、教法選擇、學法指導與資源準備 根據學生特點及其對基礎知識的掌握、教材編排特點以及語言教學的特征,我準備將教材作如下整合。第一課時,先從現在進行時態引出過去進行時態,兩種時態對比,加深學生對兩種時態的理解和知識間的前后聯系,然后進行操練,進而教學when和while的用法,加深鞏固和理解,接著教學Section B 1,2a,2b,2c;第二課時教學UFO專題,完成Section A;第三課時安排閱讀復述教學,將教學內容進行升華;第四課時進行故事編排的寫作教學,并進行單元復習小結,完成Self Check。采用以下教學法:情景創設呈現語言教學法、活動交流交際法、視聽法、讀寫法、任務型語言教學法、成果分享教學,自學探究教學法等。培養學生自學探究意識,對學到的知識應該加以歸納、分析、比較,找出異同點;加強對新語言的操練。
