一、內容及分析

本單元話題:談論問題及提供建議(Talk about problems and give advice),討論學生在學校和家庭中遇到的種種問題,提供相應的建議,為他人找到合理的解決辦法,評價取舍他人的建議,為自己的問題找到最佳的解決辦法。由Section A的 “Talk about problems and give advice”到Section B的向 “Teen Talk, a radio advice program, a newspaper advice column”尋求幫助及拓展閱讀中如何 “Relax yourselves”的介紹,教材始終貫穿“討論問題、提供建議”這一主線。通過本單元的學習,使學生學會使用情態動詞could/should及習慣用語 “what’s the matter? what should I do ?why don’t you …?”,談論自己的生活、學習中存在的某些問題,提出建議,并能根據實際情況及個人經驗對他人的建議做出評價 “Good idea./Okay idea./Bad idea.”。通過 “Writing to a newspaper advice column”及模擬“Answering Lonely Kid’s problems”,指導學生如何陳述自己的問題以及該從哪些方面考慮給對方提出建議,并通過拓展閱讀 “Maybe you should learn to relax”讓學生了解外國學生的煩惱并學會如何緩減壓力。通過本單元的學習,能培養學生主動解決問題的意識和能力,在交流中尋求幫助、堅持自己的觀點、聽取別人建議的能力,也發展學生與人和諧交往的技能。

二、學習者特征分析

學生在八年級上冊第2單元 “What’s the matter?”中已學過詢問病情、給出建議和情態動詞should/shouldn’t的用法。本單元談論的是學生非常熟悉又有親身體驗的話題,所以在學生掌握了“談論問題及提出建議”的基本用法后就可以讓他們自由談論各自的問題或向同伴提出合理的建議。

三、單元整體目標分析

1、知識與能力:

1).語言技能目標

(1)能運用陳述句談論在學;蚣彝ブ杏龅降姆N種麻煩和問題;

(2)能運用情態動詞could / should提出相應的建議,為他人找到合理的解決辦法;

(3)能對他人的建議做出評價和判斷(Good / Okay / Bad idea),從而決定是否接受或拒絕他人的建議;

(4)能夠以各種方式,如打電話、寫信、發e-mail等,向 “Teen Talk, a radio advice program, a newspaper advice column”等尋求幫助。

2).語言知識目標

(1)能掌握并運用情態動詞could / should;

(2)能正確運用“What should I / he / she / they / you / we do?”句型尋求幫助;

(3)掌握并運用“What’s the matter? What’s wrong?”等句型詢問對方遇到的問題

2.過程與方法

1)通過Pairwork ,用得體的語言陳述問題和煩惱并能給對方提出建議;在對話交流中,培養學生與人溝通的能力以及對所提供建議的評判取舍能力;

2)充分利用錄音材料進行聽說模仿訓練,了解有關電視臺、電臺、報紙雜志、心理輔導及求助機構的職能,通過向以上機構寫信、打電話、發e-mail等方式提高學生運用語言的能力;

3)通過與同學溝通交流,對同學的建議做出推理和判斷,培養學生的綜合分析和判斷能力;通過調查報告、指定幫助他人計劃等方式,提高學生調查分析能力和解決實際問題的能力;通過聽錄音,提高學生抓細節信息的能力。

3、情感態度與價值觀:

1)通過共同探討、解決各種煩惱和困惑,幫助學生學會反思自我,體諒他人,增強合作意識,培養積極樂觀的情感態度;發展學生的人際交往能力以及在實際生活中分析問題、解決問題的能力。

2)了解談論問題、尋求幫助和提供建議的基本方式,學會用得體的語言進行表述;

3)初步了解英美等西方國家的學生在學習和生活中遇到的主要問題與煩惱,以及獲取幫助的渠道。

四、重點、難點

1.教學重點

(1)重點詞匯: argue,could, either, surprise,except,fail, fit,include,send,themselves,freedom…

(2)重點句型:What’s wrong? / What’s the matter? What should I do ?

You could give him a ticket to a ball game.

I think you should ask your parents for some money.

Why don’t you talk to him about it?

(3)話題:圍繞“Talk about problems and give advice”展開討論。

語法焦點在于情態動詞could / should的用法。

2.教學難點

(1)能夠運用所學知識談論問題和困難、提出建議并做出選擇;

(2)“I think+賓語從句”的運用。

五、教法選擇與學法指導

根據《英語課標》和本單元教材內容,采用任務型語言教學途徑,將教學目標設計成符合學生生活學習實際的任務鏈,盡量使學生在參與任務的過程中學習運用語言,形成語言能力,并使用多媒體輔助教學手段為學生學習營造較好的語言學習環境,提高學生學習語言的積極性。通過任務型的教學途徑,發展學生的綜合語言運用能力,使語言學習的過程成為學生形成積極的情感態度、主動思維和大膽實踐、形成自主學習能力的過程。同時在教學中采用多媒體輔助教學、任務型教學模式,運用聽說讀寫法,并以循序漸進的方式來進行教學。
