language Points

1) Paper and printing have been used for ages.

for ages ---- for (many) years好多年了.

eg. I haven’t seen her for ages/years.

類似短語: for hours/ days/months 等.

2) The battery hasn’t been charged for a couple of months.

a couple of --- several 幾個

eg. I made a couple of mistakes in the test paper.

3) I’ll see to it. 我處理.

see to sb. / sth.= look after, deal with “處理, 照顧, 關照”

eg. other is ill. I have to see to the baby.

4.) You must promise that it won’t be….

promise to do/ that..= make a promise to do/that 答應, 許諾作某事

Promise!= I promise to do that.我答應!

5) turn on ----打開 turn off ----關閉

turn up -----開大 turn down ---關小

4. Read the summary of the conversation. Underline the wrong information

Tony wants to borrow his father’s digital camera because the school magazine is now going to be on paper. Tony wants to take some photos of the school dance and the basketball match. Tony’s dad is happy to borrow the camera and tells Tony to turn it off. He promises Tony to look after it.
